Description
Welcome to Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park! Schoodic Institute is located in the homeland of the Wabanaki, People of the Dawn. The Institute is Acadia National Park’s primary partner in science and education. Together, they manage the largest of 18 National Park Service Research Learning Centers in the United States.
Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park supports important scientific research for the park, provides professional development for teachers, and trains a new generation of stewards who will help conserve the natural and cultural heritage. Education and communication are integrated with their research programs through citizen science, public programs and events, and information sharing.
Their nonprofit structure allows them the flexibility to support Acadia National Park in creating innovative partnerships such as Acadia Science Fellowship, Second Century Stewardship, and the Citizen Science Association.
