Schoodic Byway Corridor Management Plan

National-Schoodic-Byway.jpg

The Schoodic National Scenic Byway is updating its Corridor Management Plan (CMP). This effort is being led by the Schoodic Byway Committee and the Hancock County Planning Commission (HCPC), with funding from the Maine Department of Transportation. The update is an open process, meaning we need input from residents, businesses, organizations, and visitors in the Byway’s territory. A wide range of input is essential to ensure that the new management plan provides us with the direction to maximize the benefits of a byway designation.

What is a Corridor Management Plan (CMP)?

A Corridor Management Plan (CMP) outlines how communities will protect, enhance, and benefit from the scenic, natural, historic, and recreational qualities of the byway. It establishes goals, strategies, and responsibilities for preserving the byway’s character and guiding future improvements. A CMP empowers local committees and stakeholders to shape the byway’s future and is used to support funding applications and guide investments.

Share your Feedback!

We invite you to help shape the future of the byway by taking a short survey.

The survey takes about 10 to 15 minutes and is open to residents, visitors, businesses, and anyone else who travels the byway. Your feedback will help us understand how the byway is used today, what visitors value most, and where improvements are needed.
